I was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA. I am 100% Cajun and love to eat. I was in the restaurant industry for most of my adult life. I was transferred to the Katy/Fulshear TX. area over twenty years ago. Polly and I have lived in the Katy/Fulshear area for over twenty years, and moved to the area primarily for the highly acclaimed Katy Independent School District so our children would receive, what we considered, the best education available.

I am the father of five fabulous children and have three awesome grandchildren and another grandchild due in March. I have been involved with our church and have volunteered in helping needy people repair and paint their homes as well as other volunteer work in the Katy area such as manning the Katy Christian Ministries Food Bank which also serves the Fulshear area. The kids were in the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, the Creekstone swim team, the Katy Swim Team, the Katy High School Band, and the Katy Color Guard, so they have kept us extremely busy.

I have been in real estate going on 5 years. I spent 3+ years with a reputable new home builder. Having worked for a new home builder as a sales representative gives me great insight into the workings and dealings of new home sales. This insight gives me a distinct advantage over other Realtors® who have not. Most builders tell clients they do not need a Realtor® and some go as far as to tell their clients they will get a better deal because the builder does not have the expense of paying the Realtor®, generally speaking this is totally not the case. What the client doesn’t understand is the sales representative is acting in the best interest of the builder not the client. They are trying to acquire the most profit for the builder they work for. I as an x-sales representative for a builder and an experienced Realtor®, working for a buyer’s best interest, can get a better deal for them and the builder pays the Realtor® fees. I know how and what to ask for and generally what they will give up and how low they will go in order to close the transaction. We currently live in Cross Creek Ranch and love it there.

April Royer

I am a creative, outgoing person who grew up in the Katy area and I know the area very well. I went to school in the Katy area and know they are great schools that enhance children’s lives. Growing up in the Katy area I was in the Girl Scouts, Katy Band, Katy School Choir and the Katy Color Guard. I also sang in our Church Choir and even did solos before service. I am the proud parent of two fabulous sons. The oldest, Tyler attends school in the Katy Independent School District. Before entering the real estate world I worked at the University of Houston’s Cognitive Development Lab. This job allowed me to enhance my creative side and forced me to think outside of the box. I bring this creative thinking to the table every time I market a home to sell or find a client the perfect home.

Polly Royer

Coming from a military back around with my father being in the Navy 27 years and moving around most of my life, I am glad we settled down in one place. Even though I am very grateful that I have lived in so many different places and seen so much I am also grateful to call the Katy/Fulshear area home for more than 20 years. We were transferred here with Darrel’s job when the children were very small. We look at all the schools that the Houston area had to offer and found out very quickly that Katy was where we needed to be. We have thrived as a family here and our children have grown into wonderful adults.

Since buying our first home in Katy, I started my own business in the Care, Development and Education of Children, volunteered at the school, PTA, Band and Choir Booster or where ever I could. For many years I taught Sunday school at our church. Our children sang in the church choir so we were involved in that as well.

Running my own business was great, but as time went by I knew that I wanted to do more. For several years I worked in the real estate market while still maintaining my Child Development Program. I decided to close my business and focus solely on the real estate market. Even though I miss the interaction with the children every day, I still help families with their needs and love to focus on families looking for that perfect home.

As someone who has raised her children here, I have become an expert on the area. And know what we have to offer the families that move to our area. I am always on the lookout for anything that will make me a better Realtor so I will better serve my clients, Some of my Certifications include (GRI) Graduate Realtor Institute in Marketing, Finance and Property Management, (CHMS) Certified Home Marketing Specialist) I also have extensive training in e-marketing.
